Stock market opens with gains (April 25, 2024)

At the opening, the BIST 100 index gained 31.88 points and 0.33 percent compared to the previous close, rising to 9,753.97 points.

The banking index recorded a 0.29 percent increase, while the holding index rose by 0.25 percent. Among sector indices, construction was the top gainer with 1.94 percent, while sports was the top loser with 4.26 percent.

Yesterday, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul followed a buying trend and completed the day with a 0.80 percent increase at 9,722.09 points.

Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a mixed trend due to the impact of the intensifying earnings season in the US, and noted that eyes are turned to the monetary policy decisions of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) domestically today.

Economists participating in the AA Finance expectation survey expect the TCMB to keep the policy rate steady at 50 percent.

Analysts, who stated that weekly money and bank statistics will be monitored domestically today, and a busy data agenda, primarily growth data in the US, will be followed abroad, noted that technically, the 9,800 and 9,900 levels are resistance, while 9,700 and 9,600 points are support positions for the BIST 100 index.
