Telegram has announced that it will share 50% of the advertising revenue generated on the platform with channel owners. This is major news for content creators and could lead to further growth for the platform.
It has been announced that the instant messaging and social media application Telegram will share 50 percent of the advertising revenue generated with channel owners.
Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov stated in a written announcement that channels on the platform receive 1 trillion views monthly. However, he noted that only 10 percent of these views currently generate revenue through "Telegram Ads."
Durov announced that the Telegram Ads platform will be available to advertisers in approximately 100 countries starting next month. He also stated that channel owners in the countries where the platform operates will receive a 50 percent share of the advertising revenue.
Durov, who noted that the TON blockchain will be used to ensure that advertising revenue payments are processed securely and quickly, expressed that this step will strengthen the platform's ecosystem.
It is known that the number of monthly active users of Telegram, which has gained popularity worldwide, reached 800 million by the end of 2023.
