Credit card statement from TESK President Palandöken: 'Lift the installment restrictions'

Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) President Bendevi Palandöken stated that lifting the installment restrictions on credit cards would revitalize the economy.

In a written statement, Palandöken noted that inflation has negatively affected sectors related to weddings and marriage, just as it has every other sector.

"INSTALLMENT RESTRICTIONS SHOULD BE LIFTED"

Pointing to the increases in items such as wedding organization costs, bridal and groom attire fees, jewelry costs, and venue rentals, Palandöken remarked, "The wedding sector is a sector that concerns 230 different items. Consequently, there is a stagnation in all of these, and it is a major loss for the economy. Our demand is that the installment amounts on credit cards should be relaxed a bit."

Stating that credit and credit cards are needed for purchases during the marriage process, Palandöken said, "The installment restrictions placed on credit cards should be lifted immediately. This would create a positive effect not only for couples about to get married but for all citizens. Lifting the installment limits on credit cards would bring momentum to the economy, stimulate markets, and with the reduction of unemployment and the increase in employment, the state's tax and social security revenues would increase."
