The largest share in the stock market belongs to the 45-49 age group

Stock investments by investors based in Istanbul increased by 25.7 percent at the end of September, rising to 3 trillion 87 billion 645 million liras. According to data from the Central Securities Depository, 1 million 581 thousand 682 people are investing in stocks in Istanbul. Ankara and İzmir follow Istanbul with 649 thousand 705 and 433 thousand 202 investors, respectively.

The portfolio size of investors in Ankara was recorded at 345 billion 236 million liras, while in İzmir it was 157 billion 849 million liras. The portfolio value of investors in Istanbul, which was 2 trillion 457 billion 283 million liras in December of last year, showed an increase of 630 billion 362 million liras this year.

BURSA IS IN FOURTH PLACE

Bursa stands out as the province with the largest portfolio size after Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir. The portfolio value of investors in Bursa reached 97 billion 203 million liras. Provinces such as Antalya, Adana, and Gaziantep also feature in the rankings.

FOREIGN INVESTOR INTEREST CONCENTRATED IN QATAR

Among foreign investors, Qatar holds the highest portfolio value. Qatar's portfolio size is 640 billion 759 million liras. The USA and the United Kingdom follow Qatar with 505 billion 364 million liras and 332 billion 949 million liras, respectively.

INVESTOR DISTRIBUTION BY AGE GROUP

In the distribution of investors by age group, the 45-49 age range has the largest portfolio size. The portfolio value of this age group is 373.9 billion liras. The highest number of investors is found in the 35-39 age group. The lowest portfolio size and number of investors are observed in the 0-14 age group.
