Katmer, one of the local desserts of Gaziantep known to have a 500-year history alongside baklava, continues to leave a delightful taste on people's palates today with its unique flavor. This delicacy, where Antep pistachios meet clotted cream, is also receiving intense interest from the people of Adana.

Adana-based dessert maker Zeynep Geyik decided to diversify the traditional katmer by shaping it like a shish kebab, naming it 'shish kebab katmer.' She began coating it with chocolate and serving it with ice cream. The shish kebab katmer, which customers have fallen in love with, is also drawing attention with its name and is currently selling out.

Zeynep Geyik stated that they are working on diversifying katmer, saying, "The name of our new product is shish kebab katmer. We roll out the dough, shape it like a bagel, put it on a skewer, and put it in the oven. Then we dip it in chocolate and serve it that way. Our customers liked it very much; it has only been a few days since we launched this product, but there is high demand. We are trying to come up with new products. While thinking about how we could improve katmer, we considered that meat is eaten the most in Adana—shish kebab, cubed meat—so we said, let's put this on a skewer and cover it with chocolate. It caught on and was well-received this way. It is a nice, light dessert. In the coming days, we will apply for a patent for this product. Being from Adana, we cannot give up on either meat or dessert. That is why we named our product shish kebab katmer."
