The new tariff has been implemented: New details on electricity bills have emerged

The "cost-based tariff" era for electricity bills has officially begun. As the details of the new implementation become clear, it has been announced that the consumption amount in 2024 will be the determining factor for 2025.

DETAILS OF THE NEW SYSTEM

According to the new system, subscribers who consumed a total of 5000 kWh or more in 2024 will be billed based on the cost-based tariff as of 2025. For example, a user with an average monthly consumption of 417 kWh who currently pays a bill of 1047 TL will be subject to the cost-based tariff starting from February 2025. It was reported that these individuals will continue to pay based on the new tariff even if their electricity consumption decreases in 2025.

On the other hand, consumers who remained below the 5000 kWh limit in 2024 will continue to benefit from the existing state support. Price increases that would be reflected in the electricity bills of these users will be subsidized by the state, and they will continue to make payments based on the old tariff.
