President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that pension salaries will be equalized in July without discrimination and increased the raise rate to 42.6 percent.
The lower limit for pension salaries has been raised from 7,500 Turkish Liras to 10,000 Turkish Liras.
HOW WILL THE PROCESS PROCEED?
Following the announcement of the raises, the 2024 lowest pension salary and welfare share will now be added to the legislative proposal. Subsequently, the new monthly payments will pass through the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee and come to the General Assembly. After being voted on there, it will be enacted and published in the Official Gazette.
It is stated that the pension salary regulations are expected to be brought to Parliament next week and could be enacted before the end of January.
WHEN WILL THE INCREASED SALARIES BE PAID?
SSK pension payments will begin tomorrow and end on January 26. Bağ-Kur pension payments will also be made between January 25 and 28.
Civil servant retirees receive their salaries between the 1st and 5th of each month. However, December inflation was announced on January 3.
For this reason, Pension Fund (Emekli Sandığı) retirees had received their salaries without the raise. They are expected to receive the salary differences arising from the 49.25 percent raise in the last week of January.
