The top three countries for honey exports were the USA, Israel, and Saudi Arabia

Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan, Vice Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, stated that 874 tons of honey were exported from the region in the first 10 months of the year.

Emphasizing that 2 million 513 thousand 142 dollars in revenue was generated from these exports, Gürdoğan said, "In the same period last year, 1 million 391 thousand 702 dollars in revenue was obtained from the export of 585 tons of honey from our region. Thus, our honey exports increased by 49 percent in quantity and 81 percent in value."

Gürdoğan pointed out that honey was sold to 13 countries from the Eastern Black Sea region in 10 months, noting that the USA, Israel, and Saudi Arabia ranked in the top three among these countries.

Stating that 1 million 141 thousand 185 dollars in exports were made to the USA in exchange for 432 tons of honey, Gürdoğan noted that honey exports to the USA increased by 4 percent in quantity and 52 percent in value compared to the same period last year, when 748 thousand 718 dollars in revenue was obtained for 415 tons.

Gürdoğan stated that, unlike the same period last year, honey was also exported to Israel and Saudi Arabia during this period, and noted that the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Jordan, Belgium, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Azerbaijan, and the Netherlands were the other countries to which honey was sold.

Noting that there is little time left to complete the year, Gürdoğan added that honey exports could be further increased through product diversity, organic products, products with geographical indications, and branded product exports.
