The week's winner in the markets has been determined
While stocks on Borsa Istanbul lost value this week, gold and foreign exchange rates showed an upward trend.
On Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index closed the week at 10,565.74 points, marking a 3.28 percent decline. The index fluctuated between 10,373.75 and 11,044.47 points throughout the week.
In the gold market, the rise was notable. The gram price of 24-karat bullion gold in the Grand Bazaar increased by 1.69 percent, reaching 5,519 Turkish Lira. Prices for Republic gold and quarter gold also showed similar rates of increase.
There was also activity in foreign exchange rates. The US dollar rose by 0.28 percent to 42.3320 Turkish Lira, while the euro increased by 0.80 percent to 49.3040 Turkish Lira.
Investment funds generally lost 1.33 percent in value, while pension funds declined by 0.82 percent. However, precious metal funds gained for their investors with an increase of 6.11 percent.
