The week's winning and losing investment instruments
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 3.37 percent and the dollar/TL exchange rate rose by 0.10 percent on a weekly basis, while the gram price of gold decreased by 1.85 percent and the euro/TL rate fell by 1 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 8,566.62 and a high of 9,195.83 points, completed the week at 9,184.82 points, gaining 3.37 percent compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar decreased by 1.85 percent this week to 2,975 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold fell by 2.03 percent to 20,182 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,170 liras last weekend, declined by 3.62 percent to 4,983 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.10 percent in value to reach 34.3690 liras, while the euro fell by 1 percent to 36.9560 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.41 percent and pension funds gained 0.69 percent this week.
When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "mixed and variable" funds with a gain of 1.30 percent.
