The week's winning investment vehicles: How did gold, the stock market, and foreign currency perform?

While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul lost an average of 1.16 percent on a weekly basis, the price of gold per gram gained 1.03 percent, the euro/TL rate rose by 1.37 percent, and the dollar/TL rate increased by 1.16 percent.

The week's winning investment vehicles: How did gold, the stock market, and foreign currency perform?

The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 7,202.88 points and a high of 7,526.56 points, closed the week at 7,470.18 points, losing 1.16 percent compared to the previous week's close.

The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar rose by 1.03 percent this week to 1,962 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold increased by 0.96 percent to 13,176 liras.

The selling price of quarter gold, which was 3,194 liras last weekend, rose to 3,228 liras.

This week, the US dollar gained 1.16 percent to reach 29.5550 liras, and the euro rose by 1.37 percent to 32.6660 liras.

Investment funds lost 0.05 percent and individual pension funds lost 0.39 percent this week. When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Precious Metals" funds with a gain of 1.67 percent.
