Third minimum wage hike in TRNC: It was 16 thousand liras at the start of 2024, the new figure has been announced
A 20 percent hike has been applied to the minimum wage in the TRNC. With this third interim raise of the year, the net minimum wage in the TRNC has exceeded 35 thousand liras.
Due to high inflation, the minimum wage in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has been raised for the third time.
NEW FIGURE EXCEEDS 35 THOUSAND LIRAS
TRNC Minister of Labor Sadık Gardiyanoğlu announced that the minimum wage in the country has been increased by approximately 20 percent to 35 thousand 188 liras, effective from September. The gross minimum wage has been set at 40 thousand 436 TL.
IT WAS 16 THOUSAND LIRAS AT THE START OF 2024
The minimum wage was set at 16 thousand liras at the beginning of 2024, and was later increased to 29 thousand liras in May.
