Third tea price hike of the year
ÇAY-KUR has increased dry tea prices by 15 percent. The new ministry-approved prices will take effect starting Monday, July 6.
The General Directorate of Tea Enterprises (ÇAY-KUR) has implemented a new increase in dry tea prices. It was reported that the 15 percent price hike will come into effect starting Monday, July 6.
With this move, ÇAY-KUR has raised dry tea prices for the third time in the first half of 2026. The institution implemented its first price increase of the year at 10 percent on April 8, and decided on a second 15 percent hike on May 22.
It was noted that with this latest adjustment, the total price increase for dry tea within the year has reached approximately 40 percent. As reported by Sözcü, the new price list has also been approved by the ministry.
ÇAY-KUR, the institution that conducts fresh tea purchases in the Eastern Black Sea region on behalf of the state, launched the 2026 fresh tea campaign on May 20. The fresh tea purchase price for this year was announced as 35 liras per kilogram, with a total increase rate of 38 percent for fresh tea.
