Today's meeting was postponed: New date for minimum wage announced!

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz had announced that the first meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission would be held on December 1.

The minimum wage meeting, which concerns millions of employees, was postponed without any explanation.

MINISTER IŞIKHAN ANNOUNCED THE NEW DATE

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced the new meeting date for the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.

Işıkhan stated that the commission will convene on December 11.

The minimum wage that will be valid in 2024 must be determined by the end of December 31.

In the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, the worker side is represented by Türk-İş, and the employer side is represented by TİSK.

HOW MUCH IS THE MINIMUM WAGE?

The minimum wage is currently applied as 13 thousand 414 lira and 50 kuruş gross per month for one worker, and 11 thousand 402 lira and 32 kuruş net after taxes and deductions.

IŞIKHAN: WE WILL NOT LET EMPLOYEES BE CRUSHED BY INFLATION

Minister of Labor and Social Security Işıkhan, in his latest statement regarding the minimum wage negotiations, had used the expressions, "We are currently carrying out technical work. There is no lower limit; we will not let our employees, our workers, and all our segments be crushed by inflation. I believe that by developing social dialogue channels, we will reach a consensus together in a way that both sides will obtain maximum benefit."

WILL THERE BE A SINGLE RAISE?

An interim raise was made to the minimum wage in July in 2022 and 2023. However, the possibility of a single raise in 2024 is being emphasized. Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan had made the statement, “The minimum wage was already once a year. We are working in a way that there will be a single raise again.”
