Trading on UAE stock exchanges temporarily suspended

The military tension in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has directly impacted financial markets. Following attacks carried out by Iran targeting Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the country's Capital Markets Authority announced that all trading on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Dubai Financial Market will be temporarily suspended throughout Monday and Tuesday.

While it was emphasized that Abu Dhabi and Dubai are among the most critical centers in the region for the financial sector, it was reported that the measures taken are intended to protect market security. Officials stated that such a decision was inevitable following the escalation of military tensions.

The retaliation carried out by Iran following attacks by the US and Israel on Iranian targets has heightened the perception of risk in the Gulf. The decision to halt the stock exchanges has led many circles, especially international investors, to reconsider their positions regarding the region.

In a statement made by the UAE Capital Markets Authority, it was said, "In order to maintain market security, in line with the measures taken in light of military developments, trading will not take place on the Abu Dhabi and Dubai stock exchanges for 2 days."

It was reported that developments in the region are being closely monitored in the Gulf financial markets and that the normalization process will be re-evaluated depending on the security situation.
