Treasury cash balance posted a 1.3 trillion lira deficit in the first half of the year
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that the cash balance posted a deficit of 1 trillion 293.2 billion TL in the first half of the year.
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has announced the cash realizations for the first six months of 2025.
In the January-June period, the Treasury's cash revenues were recorded at 856 billion 615 million liras, while cash expenditures reached 1 trillion 312 billion 581 million liras.
During this period, non-interest expenditures amounted to 1 trillion 62 billion 544 million liras, while interest payments totaled 250 billion 38 million liras. The non-interest balance posted a deficit of 269.4 billion TL.
For the month of June specifically, the cash balance posted a deficit of 455 billion 106 million liras.
While the increase resulting from exchange rate differences was 5 billion 236 million liras, there was a decrease of 211 billion 690 million liras in net cash and bank accounts.
These data indicate a significant deficit in the Treasury's financial position.
