Treasury held two auctions: Borrowed 49.7 billion liras
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance borrowed 49 billion 650.9 million liras in two government bond auctions held today.
In the first auction held by the Treasury, a zero-coupon government bond with a 12-month (364-day) maturity was reissued. The simple interest rate and compound interest rate in the auction were 45.86 percent.
In the auction where nominal bids reached 6 billion 271 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 3 billion 166 million liras, and net sales were 2 billion 170.5 million liras.
In the auction where the entire 2 billion lira bid from the public sector was met, 6 billion 653 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 4 billion liras were sold to this segment.
In the second auction, the first issuance of a 4-year (1456-day) maturity government bond indexed to the Turkish Lira Overnight Reference Interest Rate (TLREF), with a 12.50 percent coupon payment every 3 months (91 days), was carried out. The periodic interest rate in the auction was 12.69 percent.
In the auction where nominal bids reached 29 billion 510 million liras, nominal sales amounted to 21 billion 760 million liras, and net sales were 21 billion 480.4 million liras.
In the auction where there were no bids from the public sector, 34 billion 162 million liras in bids were received from market makers, and 20 billion liras were sold to this segment.
Thus, the Treasury borrowed 49 billion 650.9 million liras across the two auctions.
