US President Donald Trump announced that, following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, an agreement has been reached for Russia to supply a large quantity of diesel fuel to the US and global markets.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated that the meeting was "extremely successful." The US President indicated that Russia would provide "over 300 thousand tons immediately" to the American and global market, with an "additional 500 thousand tons" throughout November, followed by a potential supply of 1 million tons.

TRUMP CLAIMS PRICES WILL FALL
Trump also suggested that, depending on the status of Russia's diesel refineries, an additional 3 million tons of diesel fuel could be delivered in the near future. Asserting in his statement that he has "full control" over the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said he expects diesel prices in the US and globally to fall rapidly to record lows as a result of the announcement regarding Russian energy.
The US President emphasized that lower diesel prices are a priority, particularly for farmers, those involved in livestock, and transporters. In his statement, Trump also noted that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.

TEMPORARY LICENSE STEP FROM THE US TREASURY
The US Department of the Treasury also announced on its X account that a temporary general license would be issued immediately to allow for the supply of Russian diesel to the global market.
Today, in accordance with President Trump's directive, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is immediately issuing a temporary general license to allow for the supply of Russian diesel to the global market.
Kirill Dmitriev, the special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin for international economic cooperation, evaluated Trump's statements and noted that the two leaders held a successful meeting. Dmitriev stated that energy and economic cooperation between Russia and the US would continue and that this would benefit global markets.
