TÜİK announces April inflation

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation figures for April.

According to TÜİK data, inflation increased by 3.18 percent monthly in April, reaching 69.80 percent on an annual basis.

The change in the CPI (2003=100) in April 2024 was 3.18% compared to the previous month, 18.72% compared to December of the previous year, 69.80% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 59.64% based on twelve-month averages.

WHICH GROUP SAW THE HIGHEST INCREASE?

The main group that showed the lowest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was clothing and footwear at 51.20%.

In contrast, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was education at 103.86%.

WHICH GROUP SAW THE LOWEST INCREASE?

In terms of main expenditure groups, the main group that showed the lowest increase in April 2024 compared to the previous month was health at 1.03%.

In contrast, the main group with the highest increase in April 2024 compared to the previous month was alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 9.56%.

Additionally, ENAG had announced that inflation increased by 5.02 percent in April, and was 124.35 percent on an annual basis.
