TÜİK announces! Economic confidence index is falling
According to data released by TÜİK, the economic confidence index fell in February. A value below 100 indicates that citizens are concerned about the future.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the Economic Confidence Index for February 2024. The index decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month, reaching a value of 99.0. This figure is considered an indicator of pessimism regarding the economic situation.
In February, the consumer confidence index decreased by 1.3 percent to 79.3, the real sector (manufacturing industry) confidence index decreased by 0.9 percent to 102.0, and the retail trade sector confidence index decreased by 1.0 percent to 114.5. On the other hand, the services sector confidence index increased by 1.6 percent to 118.6, while the construction sector confidence index increased by 1.0 percent to 91.8.
