TÜİK announces unemployment rate for February 2025
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the unemployment rate for February. The unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 8.2 percent.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has reported labor force statistics for the February 2025 period. Accordingly, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 95 thousand in February 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching 2 million 886 thousand. The unemployment rate also decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 8.2 percent. The unemployment rate was estimated at 6.7 percent for men and 11.0 percent for women.
The number of employed persons decreased by 149 thousand in February 2025 compared to the previous month, totaling 32 million 314 thousand. The employment rate also decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 48.8 percent. This rate was 66 percent for men and 31.9 percent for women.
YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT
The unemployment rate for the youth population in the 15-24 age group increased by 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month, reaching 15 percent. The unemployment rate for this age group was estimated at 10.8 percent for men and 22.7 percent for women.
