TÜİK announces! Increase in industrial production index
The industrial production index increased by 3.2 percent on a monthly basis and 11.5 percent on an annual basis in February.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the industrial production index data for February.
Accordingly, calendar-adjusted industrial production rose by 11.5 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year. Thus, the annual increase in the index reached its highest level in the last 2 years.
When the sub-sectors of industry are examined, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 12.8 percent, the manufacturing sector index by 11.9 percent, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index by 7.7 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year.
There was a 15.3 percent increase in the unadjusted industrial production index on an annual basis.
Seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production recorded an increase of 3.2 percent in February compared to the previous month.
When the sub-sectors of industry are examined for the month in question, the mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 3.2 percent, while the manufacturing sector index increased by 3.8 percent, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index increased by 0.3 percent.
