The rate of idle labor (real unemployment), which consists of time-related underemployment, potential labor force, and the unemployed, decreased by 2.0 percentage points compared to the previous month to 25.2 percent.
The Turkish Statistical Institute also released labor force statistics for May. Accordingly, the number of unemployed persons aged 15 and over across Turkey decreased by 27 thousand in May compared to the previous month, totaling 3 million 11 thousand. The unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage points from the previous month to 8.4 percent. Compared to the same month last year, the unemployment rate decreased by 1.1 percentage points.
