Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay lashes out at Mehmet Şimşek

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Türk-İş headquarters. Following this visit, Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay made statements regarding the deadlock in public sector collective bargaining agreements.

'I WILL BRING A SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER'

In his criticism of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Atalay said, "At this time yesterday, our Parliament Speaker was here. Our Minister of Labor is aware of the process, but I am not sure how informed the Minister of Finance is. In fact, I will bring a sign language interpreter to the next press conference."

Stating that the contract negotiations have not yet reached a conclusion, Atalay added, "To date, no offer, neither positive nor negative, has been presented to us."

Furthermore, drawing attention to the economic hardships faced by technical staff, Atalay remarked, "The purchasing power of these colleagues of ours has fallen so much, especially in the last four years, that what you can buy this month, you cannot buy the next month."
