Turkey becomes the third country with the highest Citroen Ami sales

The Citroen Ami, which opened for orders for corporate customers in December 2021 and for individual customers in June 2022, breaking online sales records in record time, reached a total of 1,908 units sold as of the end of September.

When the Citroen My Ami Buggy—produced in a limited run of 1,000 units for 9 different countries, with a quota of 100 units allocated for Turkey—is added, total sales reached 2,752 units. Creating a new segment in the field of mobility and reaching a user profile across a wide age range, the Citroen Ami continues its popularity by meeting the short-distance mobility needs of both individual customers and corporate firms.

The sales success of the Citroen Ami, which is sold in 9 countries, in Turkey has also ensured that Turkey ranks third among the countries where the Citroen Ami is sold.

Citroen Turkey General Manager Selen Alkım stated that the Citroen Ami is the result of a process where they tried many firsts, took risks, but managed with courage, and that this process has enabled Turkey to become the third country with the highest Citroen Ami sales within the Citroen world.

Alkım said, "The first batch of the Citroen Ami, which we offered for sale 100 percent online for the first time in June 2022, limited to 50 units, sold out in just 25 minutes. Prior to this, it had also met with around 400 corporate customers in the first 4-month period. We experienced a similar record about 1.5 years later with the Citroen My Ami Buggy, which saw 1 online sale every 40 seconds. From December 2021, when we started taking orders, to the end of September 2023, we achieved a total sales success of 2,752 units, including the 100 Citroen My Ami Buggy units."

Mentioning the year-end targets for 2023 for the Citroen Ami, Alkım conveyed that they have seen how strong a model the Citroen Ami is, one of the accessible solutions of electric mobility, through its success in sales figures.

Alkım stated, "We have accelerated our efforts to deliver our orders to meet the ongoing demand. As of the end of September this year alone, we have achieved more than 1,900 Ami sales, and we aim to close this year with 2,775 units sold."

FULLY ELECTRIC FREEDOM

With its fully electric structure that has zero emission values, the Citroen Ami provides the opportunity for free access to all city centers, as well as a quiet and serene ride. Offering a structure suitable for the requirements of today's urban life, which requires being constantly on the move, the Ami responds to the urban problems of not only today but also tomorrow in a new format of transportation.

While everything has been thought of to increase driving pleasure and facilitate the daily lives of drivers, thanks to its fully electric driving mode, the Ami provides free access even in the narrowest areas of the city center and minimizes usage costs.

75 kilometers of driving range on a single charge

The 100 percent electric Citroen Ami is a quadricycle that can reach speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour, offering a smooth and fluid ride without a clutch, as well as high traction power from the moment of initial movement thanks to the high torque value produced by the electric motor.

Moreover, it allows for a completely silent ride with its fully electric powertrain. Offering free transportation within the city, the Ami can reach an electric driving range of up to 75 kilometers on a single charge.

This meets the commuting requirements of most employees. The 5.5 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery is hidden in the floor of the vehicle and can be easily charged with the cable located in the passenger-side door sill. To charge the Citroen Ami, it is sufficient to plug the integrated cable inside the passenger door into a standard socket (220 V), just like a smartphone or laptop.

With the Citroen Ami, which can be 100 percent charged in just 3 hours, the need for a special charging station also comes to an end.
