Turkey imported approximately $1 billion worth of coffee in 2022 and 2023. Turkey's coffee imports increased by 14.5 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year, rising to $607.3 million. Combined with the $530.2 million in imports in 2022, Turkey's total coffee import bill over the last two years reached $1 billion 137.5 million (34.5 billion TL at current exchange rates).
Turkey's coffee exports, on the other hand, totaled $177.2 million, with $82.5 million in 2022 and $94.7 million in 2023. Thus, Turkey's net coffee imports over the last two years were recorded at $960.3 million.
In 2023, Turkey's total foreign trade deficit decreased by 3.2 percent compared to the previous year, falling from $109 billion 541 million to $105 billion 997 million.
