Turkey has sent a new drilling fleet to the Mediterranean

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that two new drilling ships have joined Turkey's energy fleet. The new ships have been commissioned to accelerate drilling activities in the Mediterranean.

Minister Bayraktar stated that the new ship purchased from South Korea has arrived in Mersin and will be used in Mediterranean operations.

NEW SHIP PURCHASED FROM SOUTH KOREA IS IN MERSIN

The 7th-generation ultra-deep-sea ship, which was purchased from South Korea and has the capacity to drill up to 12 thousand meters, will operate in the Mediterranean. Minister Bayraktar announced that the ship has anchored at Taşucu Port and will be painted red and white, with the Turkish flag and the crescent-star emblem added. Furthermore, it was stated that the second ship will join the fleet by the end of the year, and Turkey will possess the 4th largest deep-sea drilling fleet in the world.

TURKEY'S DEEP-SEA DRILLING FLEET IS BEING STRENGTHENED

Bayraktar made the following statement on his official social media accounts as soon as the new ship arrived in Turkey:

"The first of the 2 new drilling ships we have added to our fleet has reached Mersin Taşucu. Our 7th-generation ultra-deep-sea ship, which has the capability to drill up to 12 thousand meters, will serve in our operations in the Mediterranean. Our second drilling ship will also reach our country by the end of the year."
