Turkish investments abroad hit a historic high
Direct investments made by Turkish citizens abroad have reached a record level. Here are the countries leading the way in investment.
Turkish investors continue to increase their investments abroad despite global economic and geopolitical uncertainties.
This trend was also confirmed by Prof. Dr. Hakan Kara, a faculty member at Bilkent University and former Chief Economist of the Central Bank.
In a post on his social media account, Kara stated that net direct investments from Turkey to abroad reached a historic peak of 7.56 billion dollars annually in March 2025.

MOST INVESTMENTS WERE MADE IN GREECE AND DUBAI
According to the balance of payments data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB), the amount spent by Turkish citizens on real estate purchases abroad increased by 20.5 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year, rising to 2 billion 513 million dollars.
In the first month of 2025, this figure was recorded as 144 million dollars.
Turks made the most housing purchases in Greece and Dubai.
