What will the Central Bank's interest rate decision be? Economists have announced their forecasts

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) will meet under the chairmanship of Fatih Karahan.

The tenth interest rate decision of the year will be announced following the critical meeting that the markets have their eyes and ears on.

The Bank last raised the policy rate to 50 percent in March. In the interest rate decision meeting held last month, the policy rate was also kept constant at the 50 percent level. 

WHAT IS THE ECONOMISTS' INTEREST RATE EXPECTATION?

The AA Finance expectation survey for the TCMB's Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) meeting to be held on Thursday, October 17, was concluded with the participation of 16 economists.

The median value of the economists' expectations regarding the change in the policy rate was for the interest rate to be left unchanged at 50 percent.

According to the survey results, all of the economists predict that the policy rate will be left unchanged at 50 percent.

YEAR-END INTEREST RATE EXPECTATION

The median of the economists' year-end policy rate expectations was calculated as 47.50 percent.

Furthermore, 5 of the economists predicted that the policy rate would be 50 percent at the end of the year, while 7 predicted it would be 47.5 percent.
