What will the Central Bank's interest rate decision be? Economists have made their predictions
Economists predict that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will lower the policy rate to 38 percent in December.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) is expected to cut the policy rate by 150 basis points, from 39.5 percent to 38 percent, at its meeting in December. This forecast represents the median result of a survey conducted by Bloomberg HT, in which 19 institutions participated.
The lowest interest rate forecast among the economists participating in the survey was 38 percent, while the highest forecast was set at 38.5 percent.
INTEREST RATE EXPECTATIONS FOR NEXT YEAR
Market expectations for the end of 2026 point to a policy rate of 28 percent. Among the participants, the highest year-end interest rate forecast was recorded at 32 percent, and the lowest at 26 percent.
In the past, in a survey conducted in December 2024, the policy rate expectation for the end of 2025 was stated as 31 percent.
