Economists expect the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) to keep the policy rate steady at 50 percent.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) will announce its interest rate decision, which markets are eagerly awaiting, on Thursday, May 23.
The median value of the expectations of 15 economists participating in the AA Finans MPC Expectation Survey regarding changes to the policy rate was for the interest rate to be kept steady at 50 percent.
The median of the economists' year-end policy rate expectations was calculated at 45 percent. Among the economists who shared their year-end expectations, 2 predicted that the policy rate would be 50 percent at the end of the year, 1 predicted 47.5 percent, 5 predicted 45 percent, and 2 predicted 40 percent.
At the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was kept steady at 50 percent.
