WHAT WILL THE CBRT MARCH 2025 INTEREST RATE DECISION BE?
The expectation survey conducted by AA Finance regarding the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey to be held on Thursday, March 6, was concluded with the participation of 20 economists. All of the economists who responded to the survey predict that the policy rate will be reduced by 250 basis points and lowered to the 42.5 percent level. The median of the economists' year-end policy rate expectations was determined as 30 percent.

The Central Bank Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) announced its first interest rate decision of the year and reduced the policy rate by 250 basis points to 45 percent. It had implemented a similar cut in December. In the MPC statement, it was noted that the underlying trend of inflation declined in December, but price increases in January rose in line with projections. Furthermore, it was emphasized that although there is improvement in inflation expectations and pricing behaviors, the disinflation process still poses a risk factor.
