The interest rate decision the Fed will take and the statements to be made by Chair Jerome Powell will play a critical role in the course of the markets. So, when is the June 2025 Fed meeting and in which direction are expectations shaping up? Here are the details...

WHEN WILL THE FED INTEREST RATE DECISION BE ANNOUNCED?
According to the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) calendar, no meeting with an interest rate decision agenda will be held in May. The next interest rate decision will be shared with the public on the evening of June 18 at 22:00, following the meeting on June 17-18.
WHAT WAS THE FED'S MAY INTEREST RATE DECISION?
The US Federal Reserve (Fed) announced its third interest rate decision of 2025. In line with expectations, the policy rate was kept unchanged in the 4.25-4.50 percent range. Thus, the Fed did not make any interest rate changes in the first three meetings of 2025.
Having closed last year with a total of three interest rate cuts—50 basis points in September and 25 basis points each in November and December—the Fed has displayed a cautious stance this year and has chosen to keep interest rates constant in all meetings held so far.
