Which investment instruments gained and which lost this week? (Foreign currency, stock market, gold)
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 0.50 percent on a weekly basis, while the gram price of gold rose by 1.62 percent and the dollar/TL exchange rate increased by 0.43 percent; the euro/TL exchange rate decreased by 1.03 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 9,780.73 points and a high of 10,097.08 points, completed the week at 10,075.17 points, up 0.50 percent from the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar increased by 1.62 percent this week to 3,012 liras, while the selling price of republic gold rose by 1.60 percent to 20,430 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 4,965 liras last weekend, rose by 1.61 percent to 5,045 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.43 percent in value to reach 35.3700 liras, while the euro fell by 1.03 percent to 36.4010 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.62 percent and pension funds gained 0.98 percent in value this week.
When viewed by category, the top performers among investment funds were "money market" funds and "debt instruments" funds, both with a gain of 0.90 percent.
