While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul decreased by an average of 0.26 percent on a weekly basis, the gram price of gold increased by 0.53 percent, the euro/TL by 0.31 percent, and the dollar/TL by 0.14 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 8,846.07 and a high of 9,051.60 points, completed the week at 8,885.00 points, losing 0.26 percent in value compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar increased by 0.53 percent this week to 3,031 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold rose by 0.60 percent to 20,600 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,140 liras last weekend, increased by 0.58 percent to 5,170 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.14 percent in value to reach 34.3360 liras, while the euro rose by 0.31 percent to 37.3300 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.56 percent and pension funds gained 0.38 percent in value this week.
When viewed by category, the top-performing investment funds were "precious metal" funds with a gain of 1.77 percent.
