Which investment vehicle performed best this week? (Gold, Euro, Dollar, Stock Market)
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul fell by an average of 3.96 percent on a weekly basis, while the gram price of gold decreased by 1.14 percent and the euro/TL rate by 0.26 percent; the dollar/TL rate increased by 0.69 percent.
The BIST 100 index saw a low of 9,699.85 and a high of 10,157.77 points, ending the week at 9,724.50 points, down 3.96 percent from the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar decreased by 1.14 percent this week to 2,959 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold fell by 1.12 percent to 20,075 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,010 liras last weekend, declined by 1.08 percent to 4,956 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.69 percent in value to reach 35.1900 liras, while the euro fell by 0.26 percent to 36.6510 liras.
Investment funds lost 0.45 percent and pension funds lost 0.82 percent in value this week.
When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "money market" funds with a gain of 0.93 percent.
