Which investment vehicle performed best this week? (Stock market, foreign currency, gold)
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 1.31 percent, the dollar/TL rose by 0.12 percent, and the gram price of gold increased by 0.80 percent on a weekly basis, while the euro/TL decreased by 0.03 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 8,642.18 and a high of 8,921.64 points, completed the week at 8,908.47 points, gaining 1.31 percent compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat gold bullion traded in the Grand Bazaar increased by 0.80 percent this week to 3,015 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold rose by 0.97 percent to 20,477 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 5,089 liras last weekend, rose by 1 percent to 5,140 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.12 percent to reach 34.2890 liras, while the euro fell by 0.03 percent to 37.2160 liras.
Investment funds lost 0.21 percent and pension funds lost 0.32 percent in value this week.
When looking at categories, the best-performing investment funds were "money market" funds with a gain of 0.92 percent.
