Which investment vehicle performed best this week? The latest on the stock market, gold, dollar, and euro

Stocks traded on Borsa İstanbul lost an average of 0.67 percent in value this week. The gram price of gold fell by 0.99 percent, while the dollar/TL rose by 0.39 percent and the Euro/TL by 0.23 percent.

BIST 100 ENDS THE WEEK IN THE RED

The BIST 100 index saw a low of 14,053.48 points and a high of 14,629.66 points throughout the week. The index closed the week at 14,321.19 points, down 0.67 percent on a weekly basis.

DECLINE IN GOLD PRICES

In the Grand Bazaar, the gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold fell by 0.99 percent on a weekly basis to 6,205 liras.

The selling price of Republic gold decreased by 3.90 percent to 40,590 liras, while quarter gold, which was 10,497 liras last weekend, lost 3.02 percent in value and was sold at 10,180 liras.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATES ROSE

By the end of the week, the US dollar rose by 0.39 percent to 46.9860 liras, and the Euro increased by 0.23 percent to 53.6940 liras.

Losses in investment funds, gains in precious metals funds

Investment funds lost 0.61 percent in value this week, while pension funds lost 0.69 percent.

When fund categories are examined, the top performer among investment funds for the week was "Precious Metals Funds," which provided a return of 1.20 percent.
