Which investment vehicle performed best? Those who invested here this week made gains
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul rose by an average of 4.44 percent on a weekly basis, while the dollar/TL rose by 0.24 percent and the euro/TL by 0.67 percent; the gram price of gold decreased by 0.47 percent.
The BIST 100 index completed the week at 10,081.00 points, up 4.44 percent from the previous week's close, after seeing a low of 9,573.86 and a high of 10,098.10 points.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar decreased by 0.47 percent this week to 2,951 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold fell by 0.52 percent to 20,010 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 4,966 liras last weekend, fell by 0.46 percent to 4,943 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.24 percent in value to reach 34.7800 liras, and the euro rose by 0.67 percent to 36.9130 liras.
Investment funds gained 1.53 percent and pension funds gained 1.59 percent this week.
When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Stock" funds with a gain of 3.18 percent.
