Will Turkey be removed from the grey list? Meetings have taken place!

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has held meetings with Turkish officials to discuss developments regarding money laundering and illegal financing, which caused Turkey to remain on the grey list.

Evaluating the performance of countries in the fight against international financial crimes, FATF placed Turkey on what is known as the grey list in 2021 due to lagging behind in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

WHAT DID ŞİMŞEK SAY ABOUT THE GREY LIST?

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated in an announcement in February that they had completed the technical work with FATF to remove Turkey from the grey list. Şimşek said, "The process of exiting the grey list will be completed with the on-site inspection to be conducted in June."
