Worrying forecast for the dollar exchange rate from JPMorgan! They gave a date...
In its latest report on the Turkish economy, the US banking giant JPMorgan announced the date when the dollar/TL exchange rate is expected to reach 45 TL.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) announced its first interest rate decision of 2025 on January 23. The TCMB PPK, which opted for a 250 basis point rate cut, lowered the policy rate from 47.5 percent to 45 percent.
Following the Central Bank's interest rate decision, significant changes have also occurred in expectations regarding inflation and the dollar/TL parity.
JPMorgan, identified by S&P Global as the largest bank in the US, highlighted potential gains in Borsa Istanbul in its latest report on the Turkish economy. The bank advised investors to show more interest in Turkish stocks.
As reported by Sözcü, JPMorgan analysts shared their expectations for the Turkish economy, projecting that inflation could decline to around 26 percent by the end of 2025. However, an increase of up to 29 percent is expected in the dollar/TL parity. According to the bank's forecasts, the dollar exchange rate could reach the 45.50 TL level by the end of 2025.
Emphasizing stocks with upside potential in Borsa Istanbul, JPMorgan stated that investor interest in Turkish markets could increase.
