Yacht project planned to be completed in 4 years with a capacity of 472 yachts

Turkey is accelerating its investments to secure a larger share of yacht tourism.

While Aegean and Mediterranean coasts such as Bodrum, Antalya, Marmaris, Izmir, Kuşadası, Çeşme, and Fethiye remain focal points for yacht tourism, new projects are also being implemented for Istanbul.

The EIA process has begun for the "Pearl Of Istanbul Güzelce Marina Project" planned to be built here.

According to information in the EIA application file, the project will be built as a 5-anchor facility within the borders of Yenimahalle in Istanbul's Kumburgaz region. The port's capacity will be a total of 472 yachts, with 430 in the water and 42 on land.

Within the scope of the project, along with the marina, there will be residences, hotels, villas, commercial areas, parking lots, and other structures such as social facilities, cafeterias, swimming pools, and terraces.

Planned to be completed in 4 years

The construction of the project is expected to be completed in 4 years. It is estimated that the economic life of the marina will be 25 years once it becomes operational. During this period, its economic life may be extended through renovation, maintenance, and repair work to be carried out in the marina area. 200 personnel will work during the construction phase of the project, and 150 personnel will work in the operational phase.

Considering costs such as filling works, coastal structures, superstructures, site arrangements, landscaping, social areas, machinery-equipment procurement and installation, and design, the project cost has been set at 963 million liras. The marina is projected to reach 90 percent capacity in the 3rd or 4th year of operation.

A meeting will be held for public information and participation in the process on dates to be determined by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to receive opinions and suggestions regarding the project.
