IETT sold forgotten items at auction; electric vehicles and devices were the stars of the event
A total of 3,921 items left behind on public transport vehicles were sold for 705 thousand TL at an auction organized by IETT in Karaköy. Many products, from electric scooters to laptops, found buyers.
Items left behind on public transport vehicles in Istanbul that were not claimed by their owners within one year were put up for sale at an auction organized by IETT.
At the auction held at the Karaköy Building, 3 thousand 921 different items found buyers for a total of 705 thousand TL.

ELECTRIC SCOOTERS AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVICES DREW ATTENTION
Among the items offered for sale were electric scooters, laptops, cameras, tablets, mobile phones, and steam irons. Electric scooters and technological devices were among the products that attracted the most interest from buyers.
Zafer Şat, who participated in the tender, stated that it was surprising that items of such different types and sizes had been forgotten, adding, “I am happy that I won this year. I plan to sell the products I bought on social media and in my store.”
THEY ARE ALSO GIVEN TO THOSE IN NEED
IETT Passenger Communication Chief and Found Items Tender Commission Chair Remziye Özgür stated that the forgotten items are classified before being offered for sale and that a portion of them are donated to those in need. Özgür emphasized that unworn clothing, in particular, is delivered to social services.

Items forgotten on public transport vehicles are recorded at the point where they are found and are kept for one year for their owners to claim. Products that remain unclaimed are evaluated through the auction method due to limited storage space.
This year's auction drew attention with both the variety of products sold and the revenue generated. The products, which spanned a wide range from electric vehicles to daily use items, were delivered to their new owners.
