KVKK announces: Citizens will be able to request their conversations with bank employees!

According to the KVKK's decision, an individual requested that the audio recording of a conversation they had with a bank's customer representative be provided to them.

The individual, whose request was rejected by the bank, applied to the KVKK.

INSTRUCTED THE BANK

Examining the application, the KVKK determined that the bank was unable to share the records in accordance with the provisions of the "Regulation on the Sharing of Confidential Information" issued by the Banking Law and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency.

Ruling that the concerned parties can obtain their conversation records in order to exercise their rights over their personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law, the KVKK instructed the bank to send the audio recordings after taking measures to remove/mask any data belonging to third parties, if present.
