The world's best museums open their doors to students for free

In January, the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum, which ranks among the best museums in the world, and the Ephesus Experience Museum will open their doors to students for free.

The museums, which are affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and brought to life by DEM, are adding a new initiative to their previous campaigns.

The Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum, located in the Defter-i Hakani Building in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, and the Ephesus Experience Museum, located within the ancient city of Ephesus in the Selçuk district of İzmir—both brought to life by DEM—will host students aged 6-18 free of charge between January 1 and February 2.

Standing out as examples of next-generation museology applied for the first time in Türkiye, the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum and the Ephesus Experience Museum provide visitors with a realistic experience using "immersive" technologies.

Located in the Defter-i Hakani Nezareti building in Sultanahmet Square, the heart of Istanbul, the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum makes the 1,700-year mysterious history of Hagia Sophia engaging for children and young people with the help of high technology.

In the museum, both the Byzantine and Ottoman periods of Hagia Sophia are presented in 23 different language options, combining impressive storytelling with technology.

The museum, which details the process from the founding of the Byzantine Empire to the construction of the final structure of Hagia Sophia and the subsequent stages, also features an exhibition floor. This floor houses over 300 artifacts, most of which are being exhibited for the first time, supporting the presented experience.

Located in the Selçuk district of İzmir and named "Best Museum" at the American Mondo-Dr 2024 Awards, the Ephesus Experience Museum offers its visitors the opportunity to experience daily life, architecture, and art in the ancient city of Ephesus, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, using "immersive" technologies that are beginning to become widespread in the world and in Türkiye.

The Ephesus Experience Museum is among the world's leading experience museums with its unique narrative created by combining historical storytelling with advanced technology.

The 8 prestigious global awards it has won in the fields of exhibition experience, innovation, and technology are the best indicators that DEM blends cultural heritage with advanced technologies and presents it to its visitors in an impressive way.

DEM, which has brought a new dimension to museology with its experience design, invites all students aged 6-18 to meet the next-generation museology approach for free at the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum and the Ephesus Experience Museum between January 1 and February 2.
