VFS Global announces! Important warning for Turkish citizens traveling to Canada

Due to an increase in reports regarding fraudulent attempts by unauthorized entities claiming to guarantee positive visa results, VFS Global has called on visa applicants in Turkey to be cautious.

VFS Global stated that it operates as the only authorized Visa Application Centre (VAC) for Canadian visas in Turkey and that it has no business partnerships with any external organizations to provide this service.

The statement emphasized the need to be vigilant against fraudsters who engage in deceptive activities by presenting themselves as being associated with VFS Global.

The company stated that it is working in partnership with travel agencies and making significant efforts to inform visa applicants about fraud and raise awareness.

Nishant Bhatia, VFS Global Regional Group Chief Operating Officer for Turkey, Russia, and the Baltics, said in a statement on the matter, “VFS Global is committed to providing a secure and transparent visa application process for all travelers in Turkey who wish to visit Canada. We invite applicants to rely only on the official websites of the Government of Canada and VFS Global.”

FRAUD METHODS AND INDICATORS

VFS Global listed the common fraud methods that visa applicants should be aware of to avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities:

• Fraudsters pose as VFS Global employees, acting as employers or immigration agents to offer fake job or immigration opportunities.

• They use fake email addresses to send documents claiming to be from a VFS Global manager or an important department.

• They send emails from identities similar to VFS Global’s official website or email addresses (e.g., "vfsglobal-helpline.com" instead of "vfshelpline.com").

• Fraudsters clone official-looking websites, creating a deceptive appearance with fake phone numbers and contact information.

• They request identification, bank details, or payments from victims to confirm the acceptance of a fake offer.

SIGNS THAT YOU ARE BEING TARGETED BY FRAUD

• Receiving unexpected job offers or immigration promises via personal email accounts.

• Receiving a job offer from a company you never applied to.

• Being asked to make a payment under the threat of visa denial, deportation, or cancellation of a job offer.

• The presence of irregular, pixelated, or disproportionate VFS Global logos on documents.

VFS Global invites all applicants to use its official website and communication channels for a secure experience during the Canadian visa application process.
