18 schools closed in Sakarya following heavy rainfall

Due to heavy rainfall that has been affecting Sakarya for two days, education has been suspended in some districts. It was reported that the overflowing of streams left some homes, businesses, agricultural lands, and roads in the city underwater.

Due to adverse weather conditions, classes will not be held tomorrow in 6 schools in Akyazı, 8 in Erenler, 3 in Karapürçek, and 1 in Karasu. It was stated that the decision was made due to flooding caused by the rainfall and potential disruptions to transportation.

SCHOOLS WHERE EDUCATION IS SUSPENDED

In Akyazı, education has been suspended for one day at Kuzuluk Akşemsettin İmam Hatip Secondary School, Kuzuluk Dr. Enver Ören Secondary School, Kuzuluk Primary School, Mehmet Soykan Primary School, Topçusırtı Development Foundation Primary and Secondary School, and Yağcılar Primary School.

In Erenler, Abdullah Esma Kocabıyık Primary and Secondary School, Ali Dilmen Primary School, Ekinli Primary and Secondary School, Erenler Secondary School, Hacı Mehmet Akkoç Secondary School, Şeyhköy Preschool (TEV Esat Egesoy Bedia Başgöz Primary and Secondary School), Çaybaşı Yeniköy Primary School, and Yunus Çiloğlu Secondary School have been included in the closure.

In Karapürçek, classes will not be held at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Multi-Program High School, Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Kindergarten, and Şehit Mustafa Geyve Primary and Secondary School; in Karasu, classes will not be held at Şehit Oktay Demirci Primary and Secondary School.
