Applications for 2026-2027 IMM dormitories have begun: Deadline is August 25

The application process for the 2026-2027 academic year for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) higher education student dormitories has begun. Applications started being accepted as of August 18 via the yurt.ibb.istanbul website.

According to the announcement by the IMM, students will be able to submit their applications online until 23:59 on August 25. Following the evaluation process, application results will be accessible through the same website starting from September 4.

Details regarding the online and final registration dates for students who earn the right to housing from the primary and reserve lists, as well as information on the registration process, will also be announced on the website. Students will be able to begin staying in IMM dormitories starting from September 14.

Having started service in 2021 at 3 locations with a capacity of 622 beds, IMM Dormitories will offer housing opportunities to students in 16 dormitories this year. 11 of the dormitories are located on the European Side, and 5 are on the Anatolian Side. 10 dormitories will serve female students, and 6 will serve male students. It was stated that the dormitories are accessible for students with disabilities.

For applications, the student must be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, be enrolled in a higher education institution providing formal education, and the higher education institution they are enrolled in must be located within the provincial borders of Istanbul. Additionally, requirements include that the student's family must reside outside of Istanbul, the student must not be working in a paid job with a salary exceeding one and a half times the gross minimum wage (excluding mandatory internships), must not be a public servant, and must not have completed the age of 30 as of the application date.

The daily fee for IMM dormitories this year, including breakfast and dinner, has been set at 128 TL. In the statement made by the municipality, it was noted that maintenance, repair, cleaning, and infrastructure checks are ongoing in the dormitories ahead of the new academic year, and improvement works are also being carried out in common areas.
