The General Directorate of Foundations (VGM) has announced the application calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year higher education scholarship. Scholarship applications for university students will begin on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM and will end on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
Applications will be accepted electronically through the official website of the VGM, www.vgm.gov.tr. According to the information announced by the institution, the higher education scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year will be paid as 4,000 TL per month.
WHO CANNOT APPLY?
Groups that will not be able to benefit from the VGM higher education scholarship have also been announced. Accordingly, students who earn at least the minimum wage by working in a permanent job, students of the Police Academy and military schools, those studying for an additional period at their institution, and master's and doctoral students will not be able to benefit from this scholarship.
In addition, students receiving non-repayable educational aid or scholarships from public institutions, those receiving a needy pension from the VGM, and students whose scholarships were terminated due to failure while receiving a VGM higher education scholarship in the previous academic year will also be excluded from the scholarship scope.
A definitive date for the scholarship application results has not yet been shared. The results are expected to be announced on the official website of the VGM after the Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution announces its scholarship application results.
