Curriculum claim: Did the Ministry of National Education remove calculus from the mathematics curriculum?
A new claim has emerged regarding the Ministry of National Education (MEB) curriculum. According to the claim, "calculus" has been removed from secondary school mathematics topics, effective after the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Ministry of National Education (MEB) aims to introduce new curricula within the scope of the "Century of Turkey Education Model."
In the curriculum changes made under this model, it was recently revealed that the "creation theory" was placed at the center of the biology course at the secondary education level, to be implemented starting from the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to a report by Aytunç Ürkmez from Cumhuriyet; "calculus" has also been removed from secondary school mathematics topics, effective after the 2024-2025 academic year.
In addition to this, the content of the "sets" and "logic" topics has been simplified, and the grade levels for these subjects have been changed.
On the other hand, it is also among the claims that the Ministry of National Education has begun preparing textbooks according to the new curriculum and that the ministry has sent an informational letter to publishing houses regarding the content of the courses.
